Sonic Pollinators (2017), composed by Karen Power and performed by Karen and the Quiet Music Ensemble is a musical composition project developed in response to the Offaly/Laois County Council call for art works based around pollination. Its main concept centres around a kind of nature versus nurture idea, in which the composer listens/records pollinators in their natural environments and those bred and housed within apiaries.  'Sonic Pollinators evokes powerful images and demonstrates how the collaborative artistic process invests in our community to support a healthy, informed and generous society. These explorations encourage empowerment and expression. Sustainable communities need cultural engagement & artistic thinking. I believe in arts that nourish society.' Julie Spollen.

This short film was used in October 2020 at 'Just Transitions' an international conference by the The National Economic and Social Council, a state agency with a Council made up of social partners whose role is to advise government on economic, social and environmental policy issues. Just Transitions was a network event of European Sustainable Development Councils – EEAC.
